This book was created as a response to the ISTD 2019 Student Assessment. The subject of the chosen brief is “lost.” There are many different interpretations and associations with things, people, and even places being “lost.” The project was to design something in any format that explores the meaning of the word “lost” typographically.
My interpretation of this brief was ‘Lost & Found.” When things are “lost,” are they really gone, or have they simply changed their form? Beauty can become ugliness, death becomes a memory, a personality can become something new as someone decides who they are. Loss can be viewed, rather than as emptiness, as evolution.
